This talk will help you to build the foundation for triaging through history gathering, prioritization, and preparedness.
-Learn strategies on asking important information gathering questions during initial presentation in a short amount of time to appropriately triage a patient.
-Learn strategies to quickly and accurately assess vital signs and communicate them so that appropriate intervention can begin.
-Learn strategies on how to communicate with your team to ensure that tasks are completed accurately and efficiently during times of high patient intakes.
-Learn what equipment to have prepared for incoming cases to help with the flow of tasks as patient intake increases
Jared W. Tolbert, RVT, is an experienced Emergency, Critical Care, and Intensive Care Unit Registered Veterinary Technologist at VCA ASEC where they have performed intensive and emergent nursing care. Prior to VCA ASEC, Jared worked at VCA TLC in South Pasadena where they provided relief services and supported veterinary staff through creating treatment sheets and emergency protocols. They have also worked at VCA Yorba Regional Animal Hospital and Loving Hands Animal Hospital. Jared is a graduate of Cal State Polytechnic University where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health Science.
