This lecture will discuss thoracic trauma and best practices for treatment. Topics include the use of scoring systems, diagnostic imaging modalities, importance of oxygen, fluid therapy and a few specific medications associated with trauma. Surgical interventions after thoracic trauma will also be reviewed.
The goal of this lecture is to provide a better understanding of thoracic trauma and its potential complications. To create better preparedness for diagnosing potential complications from the trauma, management and stabilization.
